What is The Rebellion?

The Rebellion is a movement to change the current teen culture. The Rebellion encourages teens and young adults to stand up for their beliefs, to break all the rules of "Religion," and to live a life of excess in our faith. In Romans 8:31 the question is asked, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" In other words if we were to band together to improve the world that we live in, and followed God's plan for us then...WHO CAN STOP US?

The Rebellion (Post 4): WHO CAN STOP US?

So, up to this point we have covered all the issues that have to do with the Rebellion. We've talked about where we are, how we got there, and now it's time to ask what should we do? What do we need to do? and Why do we need to do it?
----------
The Rebellion is simply a movement. It is just a movement to change everything we have come to know. Sound crazy? Well, I expect it to seem that way, but I have no doubt that it can happen. Will it be easy? Absolutely not! But is it worth it? Absolutely yes! What we need to realize is that it's not just a one time thing. You can't just go out and do one service project or anything like that and expect it to be any better. This will take an extreme effort from everybody involoved. There's no halfway with this. We have to go full speed.
----------
So, how are we going to do this? First it starts with you. You have to lose control of your life by giving it to God. You have to break all the rules of religion, and not live a life that is "just good enough." Finally, you have to live a life of excess, and let the way you live speak for itself. You have to give up everything only to get more in return. Don't be scared, God won't lead you somewhere you are not meant to be. In Psalm 37:4 it says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." So, give yourself up to God and he will lead you not only where you are needed, but somewhere that you will love. By going above and beyond what is simply required, you will discover God's plan for you.
---------
There are several ways to go above and beyond. You can ofcourse pray more, worship more, read the Bible more. You could also do things like service projects and mission trips (domestic or international). I think it would be so much cooler to walk around campus and hear somebody be like, "Bro! This weekend was so crazy! I went to this homeless shelter and worked in the kitchen and even talked to some of them! IT WAS INSANE BRO!" Odds of that right now are obviously slim, but come on, a boy can dream can't he? I promise that you will enjoy doing such things. It is very rewarding, and an act that can change lives and show people that teens are not just sitting around anymore. We are doing amazing things.
----------
We need to be rebels! That's the whole point of going above and beyond ourselves. We can no longer just simply blend in to society. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is. His good, pleasing, and perfect will." We can't conform. We are the new rebels, the ones that will make the change that has long been needed.
----------
You may wonder if any of this has a shot at working. I mean, sometimes I'm right there with you. I ask myself all the time if this could epically fail, or be a waste of time. Everytime I do that though I go back to Romans 8:31 where the question is asked, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" If we are following God's will for our lives then who can be against? If we were to fight the current culture, and rise up and work together well, WHO CAN STOP US? The answere is simply...no one.
