Love Never Fails: Introduction

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. LOVE NEVER FAILS..."

If you've ever been to a wedding, you have probably heard these verses. It is quite possibly the most perfect explanation of love there is. We all know that love is something that we strive for. Rather it is from our friends, families, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, or Christ. We are always looking for that connection from somebody else. The kind of connection that makes us feel alive, and makes us want to keep moving forward. It's a connection that is hard to come by, and all too often we look for it in the wrong places. We are given the blueprint for what love is supposed to look like in I Corinthians. So, why don't we always follow it? Why do we compromise the truth just for instant gratification? Where does love come from? Where should we find love? How do we love? Why do we love? What does love look like?

Obviously, love is one of the most confusing, joyous, painful, and powerful emotions. In the new series, Love Never Fails, we are going to discuss all of that. Love is one of the biggest things that teenagers want and need. It is many teens life force, but it's also just as many teens downfall. So, we are going to look at why that is. We will discover how love is patient and kind. How it does not envy or boast. How it's not rude, selfish, angry, or spiteful. How it comes alive with truth. How it protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres, and most importantly...how true LOVE NEVER FAILS.
