What is The Rebellion?

The Rebellion is a movement to change the current teen culture. The Rebellion encourages teens and young adults to stand up for their beliefs, to break all the rules of "Religion," and to live a life of excess in our faith. In Romans 8:31 the question is asked, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" In other words if we were to band together to improve the world that we live in, and followed God's plan for us then...WHO CAN STOP US?

Love Never Fails (Post 3): The Complex Infrastructure Known As Love Part Deux

Hey everyone! Hope you've had a great week! This week we are going to continue talking about what love really is. However, inorder to understand what love is, we have to know what it isn't. Last week we talked about the first sentence of I Corinthians 13:4. Yes, only the first sentence. If you haven't read that one yet, please go back and read it! So, this week we are going to talk about the last part of 13:4 as well as 13:5-6. So, let's have some fun.
----------
"IT DOES NOT ENVY, IT DOES NOT BOAST, IT IS NOT PROUD, IT IS NOT RUDE, IT IS NOT SELF-SEEKING, IT IS NOT EASILY ANGERED, IT KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS... "
----------
When you think of love you think of precious moments, having fun, and everything else that goes along with it. When you think of the wrong vision of "love," all I see is this part of the verse. This is a problem with many teenage relationships. Jealousy, bragging, anger, selfishness, and many other things are what these relationships are built on. As I think back, I can remember how big of a deal this was in most high school relationships and even mine. It happens to everybody. It's part immaturity and part hormones...it's the perfect storm. You are always worried about their friends of the opposite sex, you feel better than everybody else because of your "successful" relationship, you fight alot because things aren't going your way, and things from the past always get brought back up. Sadly, this is even happening to adults. They let all these bad things destroy their own relationship, and in turn hurt their children and their families. That's the norm now, and yet another thing that the Rebellion is hoping to turn around.
----------
Somewhere we lost the true meaning of love. Relationships seem to be more about instant gratification, than being about the other persons well being. Christ always cares about us, and wants the best for us. He is the most selfless person, most humble person, and he truly loves you. So, since we are to live like him, we need to do our best to give the other people in our lives the same treatment that Christ has given us. We need to give them the most selfless, humble, caring, compassionate, unconditional love that has been given to us without reason. That is a great way to show people Christ, and just a great way to live. We need to let Christ's love overflow from ourselves, so that other people will understand just how much he loves everybody!
----------
Also, I wanted to say something else. We are going to get into healthy relationships in this series soon, but for right now...if you are in a relationship that isn't following God's blueprint for true love, then please take a moment and think about what is wrong. Whether this means you should have a conversation about it, pray about it, break up, or whatever is needed. You will cause more harm to you and the other person if you wait, so please take action on this.
